Franchise industry stalwart Paul Constantinou AM founded Quest Apartment Hotels in 1988 in Melbourne. Soon after, he created the business format franchise model pivotal to the growth of the Quest brand. Today, Quest Apartment Hotels are in 170+ locations across Australasia and the UK.
For over 30 years, Paul has led the ongoing development of Quest’s business format franchise model, applying learnings to hone and evolve the model to meet the ever-changing needs of Quest’s core target customer – the business traveller.
Over the years, Paul has worked closely with hundreds of franchisees providing support and mentorship. Through his steadfast focus on franchisee compliance to the Quest franchise model, Paul has helped franchisees achieve financial prosperity for themselves and their families. Paul unequivocally believes this is his greatest career achievement.
In 2008, Paul conceived the idea of the Chairman’s Award to recognise high-performing frontline employees in the Quest property network. Many recipients of this award have progressed to become successful Quest franchisees.
Paul’s contribution to the Australia franchising sector was recognised in 2020, being inducted into the Franchise Council of Australia’s Hall of Fame. Furthermore, Paul was awarded the Member of the Order of Australia in 2018 for his enduring service to the franchising and tourism industries.
Paul’s achievements demonstrate his innovative thinking, tireless drive and preparedness to embrace challenge. But it is his desire to nurture those around him, creating career opportunities and enabling franchisees to create their own business success that marks him as a true franchising visionary.
